“What is your #1 goal in life?”
Your answer to that question will reveal your dominant life value. Everyone has one. It’s what we unconsciously base our decisions on. God tells us that our dominant life value is to be love. In fact, Jesus once said that of all the commands in the Bible two are most important: Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.
On February 14, our church family will begin a six-week focus on those two commands. That’s when we will come together for 40 Days of Love. With conflict, divorce, violence, prejudice, abuse, division, and polarization around us daily, it’s obvious we all need some lessons in building healthy relationships, and that’s what 40 Days of Love is all about.
I’m asking everyone in our church to go through 40 Days of Love together. Each day read (or listen to) a chapter in The Relationship Principles of Jesus, it will probably only take ten minutes to read. Then on Sunday make certain to be in the worship celebration as we unpack the subject and grow in love. Join a small group or start one yourself so that you can experience love and learn to live out the relationship principles of Jesus.
40 Days of Love, a study of what the Bible says about love, will bring a revival of love to our relationships – and our church! We were made for relationships. The more we learn how to love authentically, the more like Jesus we become.
Let’s learn together to love as Jesus did! Let’s strive to be “Carbon Copies” of Him!
Sunday, Feb. 14th, CVCC launches the church wide study called “40 Days of Love.” What a great day to begin – - VALENTINES DAY! We are encouraging all members, guests, and anyone you would like to invite to be a part of this study by joining a home group or hosting a group for this dynamic study.
During the next 40 days, we will be gathering together in groups of 6 -16 that will meet on a weekly basis in a home or local gathering places. We are encouraging everyone to read the book titled ‘The Relationship Principles of Jesus’ by Tom Holladay. The book can be purchased on line at www.amazon.com and you can find new or used books along with other 40 Days of Love study materials. We have 30 more copies coming to CVCC for your convenience.
