RAIN OR SHINE!!!!
Again, the derby is open to anyone that would like to fish. For those of you that do not know where the boat ramp is at Lake Sinclair, we will be meeting at the EVG Grocery on Yelm Highway at 700am. If you have a boat and know where it is, go to the ramp, get your boat in the water and wait for the rest of us to officially start fishing.
***Please do not forget your FISHING LICENSE! Huge fine for getting caught without a license. If you still need one, you can purchase them at any vehicle licensing location (Albertsons, on Pacific Ave, or by Godfathers, in Hawkes Prairie). You can also purchanse one at Sportsman’s Warehouse, Fredmeyers, and Cabbellas. They are different costs for different licenses. The freshwater license is the least costly one, and that is the one you need, unless you plan on ocean/sea fishing.
***Other items to bring: dress for the weather, fishing rod, fishing tackle, snacks, fish nets, and whatever else you bring when you normally fish. We have a couple of extra fishing rods if you need one. Lake St. Clair is popular for Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, and Bass. They are being caught on worms/boober, power bait, and bass lures.
***We have some boats, but some may fish from the shore if need be. (Some of our boat people have had to cancel due to personal reasons).
***There will be a BBQ-potluck at Capitol City Apartments in the office cabana, following the derby. This location is different than what we had previously advertised. Capitol City Apartments On the Green, is located on the corner of Ruddell and Yelm Highway, at 5800 Titleist Lane SE, Lacey, 98513. The BBQ will start at 100pm. Hotdogs and Hamburgers will be provided. Please bring a BBQ type dish (baked beens, potatoe/maccaroni salad), chips, cookies, pop, etc.
***We are still soliciting prizes for the derby. If you have anything at home or in the garage, used/new (doesnt matter), that would make a good prize for the derby please let me know ASAP.
Anyway folks, hope you all will joing us for the first CVCC Annual Fishing Derby.
Hope this clears up any remaining questions. If not, as I said, call or email me,
Arn (360-485-7437)
